Guitars are magic carpet time machines. So magical. Each one reminds me of wonderful times. The Gibson C-1 for example. Ahhh....the memories.

This is me on Christmas day 1971 home on leave from the Navy. Sitting on the couch with my high school sweetie Vicki and her sister. I am wearing my U.S. Navy sweater, dress shoes and my "Class of '71" class ring. Notice I happen to be holding a Gibson C-1 with the original hang tags still hanging on the guitar. That year I talked Vicki and her sister and her mother into buying this guitar for her dad for Christmas. I don't know who was happier; him or me! Later this night one of Vicki's old admirers came by and slashed all 4 tires on my car. I was due back at the base the next day and had to leave it in her driveway for my little brother to deal with. Here is the car:

I gave it to my brother and never saw it again. It was a 1965 Impala SS. My first car.
